Stair & Steel was founded by ironworkers and field leaders Adam McLean and Jake Barnes with a shared belief: dedicated attention to specialty installations can make the entire project run more smoothly.
Through years of working on major construction projects, they experienced the coordination required to keep multiple crews, scopes, and schedules moving together. They recognized that stair installation and miscellaneous steel work offer an opportunity for a focused partner to support the larger operation—bringing the right crew, preparation, and craftsmanship to each installation while allowing other teams to maintain momentum on their primary scope.
That idea became Stair & Steel.

We work alongside general contractors, steel fabricators, and steel erectors. Our role is to complement our partners’ capabilities, provide dependable field leadership, and help carry projects through to completion.
We plan sequencing, staging, manpower, equipment, access, and installation methods, then coordinate with project teams to align our work with site conditions and schedule priorities.
By concentrating on this scope, we deliver efficient installation, consistent quality, fewer punch-list items, and fewer return visits—helping our partners achieve timely turnover with greater confidence in costs and schedules.
It also supports continuity on the jobsite. With a dedicated crew handling specialty installations, our partners have greater flexibility to keep their teams focused on their assigned work, supporting productivity and crew morale.
